We understand that one of the most important decisions is choosing the right school for your child. In America, students are taught to become self-motivated and independent--to develop their own academic interests and to associate with distinguished peers from different kinds of cultural backgrounds. Oxford School is committed to providing a high quality education and university preparation for students of differing English levels. We employ a personalized English Language Development curriculum to assist our international student body with English proficiency.
How are we different?
- We emphasize a student-centered environment.
- We maintain small class size, typically ranging from 12 to 15 students.
- We have one of the lowest student:teacher ratios in the area.
- We are accredited by WASC to ensure quality education.
- Our courses are university preparatory; top ranking students may be eligible for automatic admission into the University of California by participating in the ELC (Eligibility in the Local Context) Program.
- We emphasize student projects, portfolios, presentations, and skills needed for success in universities and professional careers.
- We are an official SAT testing center.
- We are a closed campus that provides a safe environment.
- We provide Homestay Programs for international students in need.

Oxford School helped me understand and work my way into American culture. I was inspired by Oxford teachers to become a teacher myself and to pursue a graduate study in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I cannot help but feel that the teachers at Oxford helped me to discover my potential by constantly pushing me to raise my expectations.

I really enjoyed being at Oxford School for many reasons: I made so many good and lifelong friends. I learned so much about many different Asian cultures. I still keep in touch with many of the friends that I made at Oxford. Every staff member at Oxford School truly cares for the students. If I had a problem, whether academic or personal, I always felt that they were there for me. Moreover, since Oxford School is such a small school, everyone knows each other. I think that this is one of Oxford's strongest points. Since I knew everybody at school, I felt really comfortable and very relaxed when talking to them about anything. Oxford School was like my second home; my schoolmates and teachers were like my family.

Oxford School presented me with so many learning opportunities. I felt so lucky that I was able to be exposed to so many different languages while in attendance at Oxford School. All of the students, no matter what their nationalities, got along very well. The school may be very small insofar as student enrollment is concerned, but it was for this reason that I received such a fine education. I got to meet and know so many other students. I know that I will stay in contact with them.

I am from Japan, and I spent 3 years in Oxford School. I think Oxford School is a multicultural school that has unique and talented students. Teachers are both nice and caring. The ladies who work in the Admissions office became my sisters. They were all very helpful in so many ways. The school offers a wide variety of programs and events, such as testing workshops, community service, field trips, and special parties. They do such an outstanding job in preparing us for college life. Oxford was more than a school--it was my home away from home!
